Fruit Tree

Sometimes we get so caught up in our own creativity, and the amazing tools available to us, we fail to realize that it is not our creativity and technology that is world changing, but the stories of everyday people around us, doing extraordinary things. Deidox.com, is a company that has realized this.

Deidox is a small budget documentary company that shows true stories of how everyday people are being used by God in the world today.  Whether you believe in god at work or not, the powerfulness of the stories that this company is shooting, is new, inspirational and encouraging.  With a little effort and know how, this is something any filmmaker out there could be doing.

It’s great to work with special effects, it’s great to capture a scene or shot in new ways, and create something beautiful, but if the content of what we are shooting isn’t life changing, then what are we doing this for?

This is an interesting concept created by Karen Abad, one of the people behind vimeo.  Basically they are a set of nerd glasses that shoot video.  For the $150 price, the quality seems pretty decent, and with a 2GB built in memory card, a person can record for up to 5 hours of time.

While this is only the first proto type.  The potential for this type of device, is quite substantial.  Imagine instant recording of everything you see one day in the future.  What would this do for the reliability of witnesses in a court case?    Or imagine hooking this up to an iphone and streaming content 24/7.

This is the reality that is on the horizon, and whether good or bad, the fact is that the way video infiltrates our daily lives, has only just begun.

2009 has been a pretty good year, a tough year, but still a good year.  I was told by some friends and family that this year they would not be able to spend any money on presents.  I can see a lot of families these days in the same boat.

Recently I became aware of a site out there, looking to help those families.  It was created by a friend of mine, Chris Paul, of Chris Paul Design and it’s called Create Christmas.  Basically the plan of the site is to match up people that need help, and you.  Wether it’s rent money or groceries, you could help these families meet their basic needs, and make their Christmas.

If you feel it on your heart, check out the site, and see if maybe there is a family out there that you could help this Christmas.
